How do they make websites with sub-websites?
I visity a website and they allowed me to create my own 5 page website hosted under their name. Is that through the hosting service or web designer? Also, how would it cost to make one similiar to it?
those are called subdomains.
ie.
subdomain.maindomain.com
depending on who you choose as a service provider and how you access the site through FTP will determine how this is setup.
Most providers give you 5 subdomains. It doesnt cost anything, but they do add to your overall bandwidth. So it you have limited bandwidth keep that in mind.
Check with who your using and check the FAQ section, it should tell you how to make your subdomain
