online Portfolio for actor actress and models?
I am a student web designer and is kinda sick of seeing people getting charged 1000’s of dollars for a website. I want to create a business in
Los Angeles where Actors and Actress and Models can create a great looking Online Portfolio for $100 dollars flat rate without having to worry about being screwed. I already had a few clients and testimonials. Anyways Im creating a new domain name for this site , Any Ideas? I was thinking ericchanproductions.com but i don’t want to sound like a production company. I’m actually working on my portfolio so if your a actress / actor / model from LA who needs a free website ( hosting not included ). I can create one for you, let me know
email me at eric.chan914@yahoo.com thanks.
You’d go broke in a flat second!! Don’t you realize what kind of servers you’d have to have to handle that kind of net traffic??? And how much per month it would cost to keep them up and running?? You’d better have a minimum of 500 clients at 100 bucks! Just designing a website is only the flash or front face. There’s all the behind the scenes business. It’s a good idea and I like it a lot, but you’re not thinking this completely through. You aren’t even taking into consideration advertising your business…Look, I know you said you already have a couple of clients. But they must not be well known cuz no web hosting place offers that large amount of bandwidth for bigger named stars.
It’s a great idea…but you’re going to have to expand eventually, when word gets out. Think it through, plan for it. As for a name, how about “Actors Info” or “thespians in training”? “ECportfoliosInc”?
Good luck.
